The Secret Melody Beneath the Galaxy

The Secret Melody Beneath the Galaxy

In ancient Roman Venice, labyrinthine alleys wove together a mysterious and shadowy picture, with ancient buildings standing tall in their reflections on the water, casting a veil of hazy light and shadow. The damp atmosphere emitted from the twisted lanes made it feel as if time had come to a standstill. At this moment, the young Avet and his friend Eliza were nervously evading the footsteps of their pursuers, their hearts filled with an unnamed suspense and courage.

Avet mustered his bravery, gripping Eliza's hand tightly. The two transformed into shadows in the narrow alleys, quietly weaving through this land that was both familiar yet strange to them. The stone bricks in the narrow passageways were always covered with moss, making their cautious steps even more careful. Their heartbeats seemed to accelerate with the occasional sound of footsteps, and they held their breath, prepared to dodge once more.

“Avet, can we really get out of here?” Eliza whispered, a hint of unease in her eyes.

“We have to.” Avet replied, his tone steady and firm. He silently reminded himself that the true reason for their adventure had surfaced in his mind. He understood that what they were seeking was not just a simple escape, but a secret that could potentially change their fate.

Reflecting on their exploration, they were chasing a legend that said a mystical crystal capable of granting wishes lay hidden in some secret place in this city. This story was first told to Eliza by her grandmother, mentioning that the crystal would glow brilliantly under the moonlight, truly able to alter a person's destiny. Avet and Eliza had been yearning for this story since childhood, and this time they decided to bravely seek it out.

“We need to go that way.” Avet pointed to a narrow alley leading to the water’s edge, where they could hide by the drainage outlet and perhaps shake off those who were chasing them.

They cautiously hurried in that direction, the lights by the water flickering faintly in the darkness, making the whole scene dreamily beautiful. Yet, their feelings were as restless as the rippling water, hard to calm. When they reached the water's edge, they saw a few faint lanterns floating on the surface not far away, the gentle waves reflecting a weak glow, momentarily entrancing Avet.

Eliza looked at the water's surface and softly asked, “If we really find that crystal, what wish would you make?”

Avet contemplated and muttered, “Perhaps... I wish to make this city more peaceful.” A hint of deep sadness shadowed his gaze; this city had a long history, but it was also filled with too much sorrow and conflict. He wished he could bring about change.

“I wish I could always be with you, no matter how difficult the road may be in the future.” Eliza smiled slightly, her words warming Avet’s heart. He turned to look into Eliza’s eyes, where courage and hope sparkled, and the friendship that had been cloaked in shadows became clearer.

“I will protect you, always.” His voice was deep and powerful, as if he were making a vow.

Just as they were enjoying this moment of mutual understanding, a sudden rush of footsteps broke the night’s tranquility. Avet and Eliza exchanged glances and unhesitatingly hid in the shadows near the water's edge. Their hearts raced as if ready to leap from their chests, the tension at that moment indescribable.

Two figures entered Avet and Eliza's sight; they were the very people who had been chasing them. Dressed all in black, their expressions were grim, as if they had just emerged from a dark corner, exuding an icy aura. Avet held Eliza’s hand tightly, trying to offer her some comfort.

“They must be searching for something.” Eliza said quietly, her voice faint yet clear like the buzz of a fly.

“We must wait for them to pass.” Avet replied calmly yet urgently, as countless possible escape plans flashed through his mind.

After a short while, those people seemed to have lost interest and turned to leave in another direction. Avet and Eliza quickly emerged from the shadows, taking a deep breath as they hurried toward the old oak tree by the water. The old oak was covered in moss, its roots twisted and tangled, as if concealing a secret.

“We’ve heard before that the crystal is around here.” Avet pointed to the old oak, his heartbeat inexplicably quickening.

“Are you saying we might really find it?” Eliza's eyes were no longer filled with doubt but sparkled with anticipation.

“As long as we don’t give up, we will definitely find it!” Avet smiled slightly, feeling secretly delighted inside.

They slowly approached the old tree, and the surrounding environment became unusually quiet, even the sounds of the rippling water softened, leaving only the echoes of their breathing. Avet reached out, lightly touching the trunk, as if feeling the tree’s breath.

At that moment, Eliza suddenly exclaimed, “Look!” She pointed at the base of the tree, where it seemed a small opening was hidden, emitting a faint, sparkling light that resembled stars emerging from the night.

Avet's heart raced; they had finally found it! Without hesitation, the two walked toward the opening, pulling aside the veil of darkness as they entered the small tunnel. Inside the tunnel, the air was somewhat humid but carried a comforting fragrance.

Eliza felt a surge of excitement within her as she tightly gripped Avet's hand, “We must find that crystal!”

Avet nodded, a brave flame igniting in his heart. They turned around several corners, the walls around them gradually revealing more and more glowing stones as if guiding them forward. When they reached a small chamber deeper inside, the sight before them left them in awe.

There, a translucent crystal floated in the air, surrounded by colorful light, resembling a tiny star. This crystal was so beautiful, as if it was a collection of many wishes, illuminating the entire space.

Avet’s gaze was fixed on the crystal, unable to resist taking a step closer. Just then, a roaring sound of rushing water suddenly erupted behind them. The two turned in terror to see a massive flood of water rushing into the entrance, clearly their pursuers had discovered their trail.

“Quick! We must grab the crystal!” Avet shouted; they had to complete this adventure before the water engulfed them.

Eliza nodded vigorously, and the two reached out toward the crystal. It flickered gently in front of them, seemingly sensing their call. As soon as their hands touched the crystal, a powerful force suddenly drew them in, while the water behind them surged violently, as if in hot pursuit.

In the instant the water was about to catch up with them, the crystal emitted a brilliant light, instantly enveloping Avet and Eliza, allowing their bodies to float in the air, as if soaring through a dream. They closed their eyes, engulfed by this powerful light, feeling as if they had completely left this world.

When they opened their eyes again, they found themselves in another place. Before them appeared a beautiful garden glowing with five colors, where petals were as transparent as crystal, gently swaying in the breeze. The surroundings were serene and peaceful, as if time had stood still.

“Did we really succeed?” Eliza excitedly looked around, a smile blossoming on her face like a flower.

“Perhaps we did, we found the crystal! This is all really happening!” Avet replied in disbelief. In this enchanting otherworld, they felt an unprecedented sense of happiness.

“It’s so beautiful here; we must cherish this moment!” Eliza sighed.

“Yes, we will create wonderful memories here,” Avet smiled too. They exchanged a glance, and the fears and tensions within them faded away in this garden, leaving only a heart eager for adventure.

They explored the garden, petals drifting into their hands like the grasping of luck. They laughed at times, and at other times, fell silent to savor this beauty. Regardless of the difficulties they might face, their mutual support made them braver.

As time passed, they discovered that the mysteries of this garden were not merely beauty; it hid a deeper secret. The crystal seemed not only to be a wish-granting stone but also bestowed infinite power, allowing them to explore more possibilities in this world.

“Will we be able to bring the beauty of this place back with us?” Eliza asked, a hint of doubt in her voice.

“Perhaps, this is our mission; we need to take back the hope of the future and make our city better.” Avet answered, a spark of realization flickering within him.

As they wandered through the garden, they discovered strange plants and flowing streams everywhere, with shimmering particles floating on the water's surface, leaving them in awe.

“We can explore the source of those shooting stars.” Eliza said confidently, not expecting the adventure to bring so many surprises.

“Good idea; everything here is worth exploring!” Avet said eagerly.

Together, they walked toward the shimmering stream, their hearts ignited with limitless courage and passion. Their friendship solidified during this adventure, and the crystal transformed their wishes into an indescribable power.

The meeting of this mysterious garden and the crystal planted the seeds of hope in both Avet and Eliza’s lives. On this night, the journey of adventure was just beginning, and their story would continue to be told in the future.
